How is iris photography different from a regular photo?

Your iris is the only pattern in the world that's yours — set by your first birthday and unchanged for life. We capture it at a level of detail that turns it into art on your wall, not just a snapshot.

Do I capture from home or in studio?

Both options exist. Most pieces — necklaces, acrylic blocks, canvas up to 40×40 cm — can be captured from your phone. Larger formats and premium materials are captured in studio (New York or Chicago, by appointment).

How long does the whole process take?

Online: 5 mins to order, 10 mins to capture, 48 hours for preview, 3–5 days to ship. Total: about a week. Studio: book 1–2 weeks ahead, 60-min session, 1 week for preview, 2–3 weeks to ship for premium pieces.

What phone do I need for online capture?

Any iPhone 11+ or Android with a decent camera (last 3–4 years). Our guided web app walks you through the lighting and angles. We'll let you know within 24 hours if your photo isn't usable — no charge if we can't make it work.

What if my photo isn't good enough?

We review every capture. If your photo can't produce a quality piece, we'll either guide you through a re-capture or refund you in full — no questions, no fee.

Can my partner and I both contribute irises from home?

Yes. Couple, family, and multi-iris designs all work from online capture — each person uses the same guided web app from their own phone.

Studio sessions

How long does a studio session take?

About 60 minutes. Private appointment, just you (and partner/family if it's a multi-iris piece) plus our capture team.

Where are your studio sessions?

New York (NoMad, Manhattan) and Chicago (West Loop). By appointment only — Tuesday–Saturday in NYC, Wednesday–Sunday in Chicago. Book at /collections/studio-collection.

Do I pay for the session itself, or just the piece?

You pay for the piece. The session is included in the price of every studio piece — no separate session fee.

Approval & refund

Can I see the artwork before you print it?

Always. We send a digital preview within 48 hours (online) or 1 week (studio). We don't print until you say yes.

How many revisions can I request?

Two free revisions on every order. Most customers approve the first preview — but if you want adjustments to color, framing, or composition, we'll iterate until it feels right.

Can I get a refund?

30-day full refund if your digital preview doesn't move you. Once you approve and we print, the piece is yours — but if it arrives damaged, we replace it free.

Order & shipping

What if my piece arrives damaged?

Email us a photo within 7 days and we'll replace it free, no questions. Shipping damage happens — we cover it.

Privacy & data

Is my iris data safe?

Yes. Your iris photo is treated as personal data. It's stored encrypted, used only to craft your piece, and never sold or shared. You can request deletion any time.

How long do you keep my photos?

Until you tell us to delete them. We keep your photo on file so you can re-order or order new pieces from the same iris later. Email hello@eyegift.art any time to delete.

Will you use my iris for AI training or biometric identification?

Never. Your iris is only used to create the piece you ordered. We don't train models on customer data, and we don't share or sell biometric information to anyone.
